Fair few scotch mules and cheviots what would really pee me off is whenever he lambs a ewe and lets it go it disappears into the distance and he then spends half hour trying to catch it again and takes it inside with its lambs .
You can’t be having that outdoors, the number one priority regardless of breed is they’re glued to their lambs whether you’ve had to lamb them or not.

I've seen far too many blackies disappearing over the horizon. Anything I have to touch either gets brought inside or tied to a fence by her horns until they are deemed to be no longer a flight risk

Sounds like he's making more work of it than he needs to. If you have sheep that you know will feck off like that, as tegs can often do if you lamb them, then pen it up somewhere straight away.

I suppose he has to make something for the camera though...

Local chap blew his finger off with a bolt gun not so long ago. Dispatching a pig and it moved just at the wrong time. He would have known what he was doing, just got unlucky.
That puts having a bad day into perspective.
M8 old man went to shoot a Hogg with bolt gun once . Put it against hoggs head and pushed down and pulled trigger …
had gun wrong way around and put bolt straight through his hand! 😩🙈
Took a few years before he could have a laugh about it right enough 🤔🤷‍♂️

A few pens in the field would seem like a good idea to me.

I have a catching pen in my singles paddock, where the tegs are. They only usually need an hour or so left in there to settle down and bond with their lamb, then leave the gate open.
I usually have the bike trailer on too, so any problems can go straight in and back to pens indoors.
