Thats over 1.5 square miles? I really dont care any more, common sense has gone, all this and more is a "ticking time bomb" waiting to explode and when it does, not very long now, all havoc, rage, anger and anrchey will be unleached, the likes of which this country has not seen for many many years?

I don't know the ground personally, but it seems to be improved upland.
However you cut it, that's a lot of tonnage of beef and/or lamb now not coming to market.

Will people just eat a little bit less to accommodate?
Or pay a bit extra for Bill Gate's factory gloop?

It’s a cold farm, which conifer tree will just about grow on. To be honest it probably won’t many produce tonnes of beef or lamb, most of the animals there would be fed grub brought in from miles around. probably best to revert back to trees.

I mean, if it was for sale and they bid the best price...

...surely noone here really likes others saying what we can and cant do with our own land, and that should apply to others? I get enough yak yak yak about solar and how it takes land away from new entrants etc.

Doddington Hall estate (700+ha) dumped all its arable farming for what is looking like some scruffiness, some native moos, and some ugly looking pigs. Noone had sad faces, infact many of the local bids who can afford to get a sandwich there seem to think its the greatest thing since sliced artisan sourdough spelt loaves.

Egbert, how much food a week do you eat, or need? Imagine that every 2 weeks you have one extra person to feed in your house? well thats whats happening on the larger UK ? Simply put, more people and its alot more people need more food, easy to understand and this is just not , cannot go on something has to give?

The whole idea , as i understand, is for the "govt" any govt, has to "govt", basic things, like one protect, defend the country, defend rule of law of the UK and its people, feed protect and "help" the UKs people when they need "help"? Support, encourage home grown industry? All i repeat all of these basic rights that any of the worlds countries their population would expect, Our "lot" dont do fact, they seem far far more interested in other countries, other countries problems and other countries people than us here in the UK? Argue that?

Who gives a fudge? Let them play in their overgrown garden. It'll revert to a wilderness and that's another lorry load of lamb and beef not hitting the shelves. More for the rest of you. (y) Give it 10 years they'll probably be paying some dude to graze his sheep on it in an attempt to make it look half tidy.
My feelings exactly. As long as there is enough voluntary 'rewilding' then it won't be forced on the rest of us. Not our job to worry about food security.
