    Cocci question

Had a bunch of lambs tested, egg count suggested needed treatment for cocci as moderate infection. It’s now 3 weeks since treatment can they return to that paddock on the rotation now? It’s been empty for the three weeks. thanks Hughesy

    Red clover silage

Finally managed to cut our new red clover rye grass ley today. Just wondering if anyone has any tips on making a good job of it. It’s going to be put into round bales. Is there any difference to straight grass silage. TIA.

    Caesarean Costs

Unfortunately had to have a caesarean on one of the ewes last month, just received a bill for the work which I feel is on the high side £381.25 plus VAT was just wondering if others would share what they are paying so that I can compare. This price would be very difficult to justify on a purely...

    Teaser Ram question

I cut three tup lambs in the summer august sometime as teasers. I was wondering whether anyone knew if it was safe to run them with some ewe lambs yet? They’ve not been near any ewes or been tested, just wondering if there’s a time scale to the procedure. I definitely do not want any surprise...

Rogue Tups in with Tack ewe lambs.

Wanted the forums opinion. A mate of mine has tack on a local farm it's good land, well kept and reseeded regularly. Farmer is very good and checks them twice daily. There were no fences so my mate and his father invested heavily in electric fencing and the kit to put it out off a quad. They've...

    Which waterproofs?

I am probably a large or extra large in flexathone and I bought xl jacket and bib and brace. The bib and brace has plenty of room.

    Which waterproofs?

Just to give some feedback as I wrote the original post. Very impressed with the kiawaka parka jacket, used it through lambing at the turn of the year it was warm during the night shifts but not restrictive (though I probably took it off the lamb any ewes) and it was very very welcome when...

    Which waterproofs?

Well decided to bite the bullet today and have bought the Kaiwaka Stormforce Parka Jacket. Sized up the bib and braces too, I’ll get them in the new year to spread the cost a little. Really impressed with the quality but time will tell I suppose. Thanks for all the advice!

    Which waterproofs?

After my third day in a row getting absolutely soaked to the skin I’ve decided to bite the bullet and get some decent wet weather gear. Been looking at the kiawaka bib and braces and jacket, they’re very expensive but only heard good things about them. Our local branch agri store now have...

No Welshpool market next week ??

Based on the information given about the cancellation of above female sale given to the vendors. The market will be closed for a two week period due to members of staff testing positive for covid-19.

No Welshpool market next week ??

It's definitely the Charollais in-lamb female sale that's cancelled. Anyone looking for ewes couldn't go far wrong with these from Colin Bowen Gwyndy. Saw them yesterday, they're a tremendous bunch, skins, tops and back ends on them. Real shame for him the sale was cancelled as he was selling...
