We've done both of ours. We replaced the seat sensor with a new one. The seat senor is an important piece of safety equipment and needs to be cared for. Wrap it in bubble wrap, strap it tight with cable ties and keep it our of harms way behind the cab trim. You don't want to be sitting on it ...
Looks like mine. Alltec (i think ) updated it about 4? years ago. We got 15 new collars (£105 each) this January for it.
It does seem a shame to throw the old collars away, is there no one who can fix them?
The day Brain had that loadall delivered, he needed to take some corn seed to the drill in the field.
So what did he do?
He used the skid loader to take the bin off the seed tender , emptied a bag of seed into the the bin, put the bin back onto the seed tender, then headed off to the field.
Ours was new in 1996.
In order to get a full days chopping without a break down we would spend a couple of hours every morning checking every bearing and idler sprocket with a pry bar, tightening and oiling chains.
Keep a set of new bearings for feed rollers and sprockets in your store...
Does anyone else thinks he has an awful lot of equipment. For example they have two combines but rarely run both at the same time as there is usually only him, his dad and his brother.
For the last ten years or so we've used TESCO super absorbent clothes (still 3 for £1).
We wash about 40 towels (100 cows worth) at 40 degrees in an ordinary washing machine.
Use non bio powder and a cap full of detol.
If we put to many towels in the machine it wont spin them dry properly...
I use Quickbooks. My accountant told me set up an expense paid from "cash" for the self bill part (ie auctioneers commission). then at the end of each month make a bank deposit for the months total "cash" expenses paid into the same place where the income went (eg "Livestock sales").

The Americans seem to have really poor health and safety. Even on new machines and manufacturers promo vids as above none of the PTO guards were chained.
