    USA to plough conservation land

great statement but have you got a source? The closest I was able to find is this: https://www.agriculture.com/news/business/high-commodity-prices-shift-conservation-lands-to-crop-fields The article states that the Conversation Reserve is a voluntary program for landowners, who are now taking...

Few scraps in the cab but most outside. Had to bin a small pile of compost (well nearly compost) which was nearby and got glass in it. Going to vacuum tomorrow to get the last scraps I can, but am prepared to find little bits in years to come. luckily interior has no cloth so easier to clean.

Well the little one had a bout of user error from yours truly. Lifting when you should be tilting equals a lot of rear window puzzle pieces.

Prepping for hedgerow planting, what herbicide to use to kill off existing grass and weeds?

Thanks all, I was thinking it would be a substantial job but looking at the comments I have made a mountain out of a molehill. I'll follow the advice and plant them as it is now. We are in Aberdeenshire so will figure out what the best time for planting is by talking to local people as well but...

Anyone have experience with the Woodland Trust MOREhedges scheme?

Got the results back from the MOREhedges application, they will cover 75% of the material costs (plants/canes/protective sleeves) which puts it at a cost way below any local suppliers. Will dig into the small-print more before finally accepting the offer but looks like one that will be difficult...

Prepping for hedgerow planting, what herbicide to use to kill off existing grass and weeds?

So we are looking to plant 200m of hedgerow this winter in one of our paddocks. As I only have a knapsack sprayer can people recommend a herbicide to use before hiring a rotovator to prep the ground? From what I can read about planting hedgerows the aim is to have a strip cleared of all growth...

Timber extraction has started. The little one is holding its own as it can go under cover and the big Valtra with forwarder complained about head height.

Looks like Tocherford smiddy is the closest to me, thanks @Chae1 and @Longlowdog will go and have a chat with them.

Recommend me a fabricator (Huntly / Aberdeenshire area)

So I'm needing to mount a small winch on a plate to hook on my tractors tow pin. Unfortunately I don't have the metalwork equipment or skills (yet). Any suggestions on who in the Huntly Aberdeenshire area can help me? This is the winch I'm looking to work with.

    Recommend me a knapsack sprayer

Think its trying to maintain pressure and the trigger releases the pressure, no electrical connection between the nozzle/grip and backpack.

    Recommend me a knapsack sprayer

Silverline, cheap as chips so get a new one when it breaks. Have had my current one 3 years now I think, might be 4, and no problems with it. When it breaks might change to battery as @Exfarmer says...

    Food Banks Whats Going On?

Although your evidence is correct, your point isn’t. Yes full time employed women as a percentage have gone up but that does not include the women who were doing piecemeal work at home as that is not classed as full-time work as far as I am aware. Looking at my own family tree, all women worked...

Alibaba , has anyone used it to buy ?

Really depends on the small print. Most of the time the seller arranges shipping but you need to sort out import etc. With regards to quantity for orders I've gotten away with asking for a sample before thinking of potentially placing a larger order. That way I got the one off. It does seem to...
