It incenses me that a bit of support in the depths of this crisis could have kept more cows alive, and also preserved some perfectly efficient producers, to give the buffer of supplies that a sound milk processing industry requires. Instead it's all allowed to crash and soar by happenstance.

Buffer supplies, my arse, supply and demand cannot work with a buffer.

Buffer = no price rise.

It can, its called market resilience. But it needs the buyer to understand that by balancing the market the price he pays wont increase over the long term but it means he can plan. If he doesn't then he gets a reduction in the short term balanced by an increase at other points, causing pressure in the market and causing a lot of stress in the long term. It also takes trust in the supply chain which we dont have. Supermarkets are their own worst enemy at times, they could make their lives and that f their customer easier but every buyer needs to be seen to be indispensable and the guy who puts a mechanism in place signs his own P45.

It's easy to say after the bottom was reached trouble is they didn't really know when that was going to happen.

With this wet weather we are running 10-15% below our forecast on milk output, our tanker has gone from coming at mid day because muller are waiting hours to unload because so much kicking around and driver telling us our milk is sat in a artic trailer for two days befor it's being unloaded because they are full to the brim, now tanker is coming in at 10.40 with milk volumes right down that he's picking up an extra farm on his route.
