‘Rull Bell’ rings the Bell at Aberdeen Angus Dispersal
Stags were delighted to conduct the dispersal sale of the Rull Pedigree Aberdeen Angus Cattle and Farm Machinery on behalf of Edward and Claire Jones at their farm on the outskirts of Cullompton, Devon. Despite only 28 cattle being offered it was the depth and quality of the breeding along with proven show success that attracted purchasers from all different areas of the British Isles. Topping the sale at £4,410 (4,200 guineas) was a very correct 8 month old heifer, Rull Bell S221, who was sired by Wall Royal Leo. She was sold in the ring with her mother, Rull Belle P166, being 5 months in calf and selling for £4,200 (4,000 guineas) making a total of £8,610 for mother and daughter. The pair was purchased by the Neish family to join their 70 strong Pedigree Herd in Warminster, Wiltshire.

Also selling at £4,200 was 5 year old Netherton Fleur L644 with her 5 month old daughter, Rull Fleur S228, at foot. Netherton Fleur was purchased by the Jones’s in 2012 from Netherton and was PD’d 3 months in calf to Rull Fusion and now joins the Bonshaw Pedigree herd owned by Tony and Diana Irwin in Colchester, Essex.

Bulls topped at £3,360 (3,200 guineas) for Rull Barnett S220, being only a 8 month old son of Wall Royal Leo and out of Rull Belle L122. He was purchased to join the Maplejacks herd owned by Gill and Kevin Quinn near Taunton, Somerset. 9 Embyo’s sired by Muirhall Top Deal and out of Rull Frances F065 were sold for £300 each.

Overall averages were 8 Cows & Calves av. £2,848; 7 Cows av. £2,250; 3 Heifers av. £2,450 and 2 Bulls av. £2,835.

In the machinery lines prices exceeded expectations and topped at £29,000 for the 2012 Manitou MLT 627 Turbo Materials Handler.
