750A disc issue

You're not the only one. JD changed the design of the seed tube because they had issues with the old type however the new design ( with the locating tab ) has proved to be less successful. I think they have changed the process of manufacture rather than design so some new ones should sort the issue. Time will tell. I also have no doubt that JD will sort it out for you.

Hello Simon hope you are well, i'm sure jd will sort all the small problems out, and to be fair they are small, i wouldn't want any other drill than this on the farm as its the best most forgiving drill out there by the results we have had so far, and am so impressed, but will still want to come on one of your 750a courses again as i forgot a lot of the good stuff.

We have this issue too.

We also had to have the valve for adjusting the coulter pressure replaced as it was leaking but there was no fuss over it

You've just missed the last one, although it was at 24 hrs notice at @Feldspar 's. I'll give you a call soon and discuss it.

There is a grub screw that holds on to the pipe through the tab any loose ones need to be thread locked in to the seed boot, as i have actually lost the whole seed tube never to be seen again, well until next year in the combine stone trap.

Not sure why they thought they needed to add that:scratchhead: I have never had one fall out.. They do become worn in both the end of the locating bolt and the hole in the tube which allows them to flop around and rub on the disc. A new tube and bolt fixes that up...They should make them with a quarter turn locking slot so they're tight and then fixed with the bolt..

Good luck with that, my issues keep mounting up and i still have no definite answers from john deere the dealers are ok but takes months to sort stuff, latest thing is seed pipes the ones in your pic with globby paint on the small brackets keep breaking on the bottom were the bolt goes in, well at least twenty of them now i've been welding them up to keep going not good on a drill 6 months old so good luck.

Same here, broken all 36! Waiting on JD to tell dealer what to do, old drill didn't have the tabs so seed tubes worked loose and rubbed on disc unless cable tied.. tab is a good idea but not strong enough when seed pipes vibrating a lot

I am surprised that these issues are occurring. I chose this drill because it was meant to be a tried and tested design! When these tabs break are you able to carry on drilling, or do you have to go back to the workshop to do some welding? Don't fancy traipsing back and forth from farm to field every time one breaks. Have just found out today that two of the four wheels are off at an angle due to some frame geometry problems...

JD tell me that seed tube tab issue has been resolved by changing the manufacturing process and that the issue applied to only a relatively small no of machines. Time will tell whether it has but undoubtedly anyone with issues will be sorted out.

Although the drill is basically the same as the original ones there have been lots of gradual improvements over the years. Very occasionally the improvements need modifying but at least JD are constantly trying to improve performance.

Slightly OT, but have just started to fit the single swept tines and have now realised after speaking to Simon why @Big-Al was extending his following harrow frame. With the harrows we have the frame would have to lower such that it would hit the Guttler wheels. Before we start extending the frame, are there any longer single swept harrows that anyone has found. The double harrows shown in the picture won't line up with the slots, although they are a much better length.

These were what i saw at tillage the front facing tines on a KRM. may be spaldings have a selection to try and marry up.
To be fair the frame extension has worked well so far, but would of been better to of tried longer tines first, i have now had my hopper extension done as well last week, can get about 2250 kg of wheat in it now

I've used the green double tines that Claydon use. The double tines are about 16cm apart so 1 tine can do 2 slots. They aren't exactly 16.6cm but close enough !
