the grey bits are basicly the same apart from the lambs tail at the back, tho what you would do after removing cab i don't know as you will have removed the fuel tank, steering and all the controlsWhat exactly is a 550? Is it a 148 with q cab?

Yes I saw that tractor done by Phil Powell I take It he has sold it now?Mate made one into a 240 as cab was beyond repair[emoji106]
Very very good pointMF 250 would be better than a 550 as it has the wet brakes.
Nothing at all wrong with the dry brakes, just the wet brakes are even betterThere's nothing much wrong with the dry brakes when kept in order. It's a shame the 240 and 250 tractors have that rubber bit round the bottom of the dash to seal the cab off as with old age they crack and fall apart. The 550 cab is complete sealed unit in comparison
Have a 550 for sale if you want one. No need for it now since I bought my Holder.
I have a couple of MF 20Fs for sale, 3 cylinder, Duncan cabs and wet brakes, nice power steering. Very cheap compared with red ones!
The only 250 I ever drove had battery in the cab, on left hand side, just in front of back axleThe 250 is interesting because whilst it may have the later rear axle with wet brakes, it has the earlier 'short' front end with battery and fuel tank under bonnet, and 135 style dash.
