But can imagine it would be quite a struggle?
That window is heavy, you'd need a pitch fork in the cab to prop it open with!

He should have been able to get out of the rh side window. That is why the over center latch had a clevis pin fitted with an easily removable R clip as a legal requirement as there was only one door

I have heard of drivers of them drawing close up to a hay or straw stack on the left hand side ( when pulling a trailer load of bales to be off-loaded, say ) and been unable to get out of the tractor because the only door that opens is now next to the stack!

I have that book too and I seem to remember he certainly is not a fan of The MF 550!
I love the story about the guy in an African country who's tractor engine had seized up, when David removed the oil bath from the air cleaner he found it had no oil in it at all but instead it was full of dry sand. The driver then told him that he noticed the sand that was in it before was dirty and very oily so he had cleaned it all out and replaced it with nice clean sand instead!

Had quite a good chuckle at that, thanks for sharing

We have a 550 and its brill, does the job we want it for, reasonably comfortable cab, in that it keep the wind rain and cold off you, if you want a 148 get one of those instead.
