Sun put his hat on and came out to play. Forgot to bring his friend Wind to the party. But eventually got the binder wound up and knocked another ten acre off.

Came back and fed milk calves in the dark, pushed silage forward for stores I laid in yesterday. One had ripped the shell off of its horn. Bleeding like a stuffed pig. So emergency dehorning session.

I've only just realised that is a reflection of the dirt on the boards. When I first saw the picture, I just assumed it was like here, and the clay is so sticky that you always get a layer stuck on the boards as you pull out of the ground!
Ours have nice little sausages of clay stuck to the board as well as on to the furrow - makes it not very easy to pull
