Ruth Davidson is the only Conservative able to lead her party out of their 1950's time-warp: the UK has changed, irretrievably, and she appeals directly to today's socially-liberal electorate.

Witty and truthful, she famously ran through a field of wheat to mock Theresa May and - when the journalists asked what was the naughtiest thing she had ever done - declared that she "had inhaled".

Just to make sure the Brexit bulllies choked on their own bile, she added for good measure that she wasn't sure whether the Conservatives are ready for "a drippingly wet, pro-immigrant, lesbian Scot".

In your face politics, the only antidote to Jeremy Corbyn.

So was JC not that long ago.
Jezza is also an Mp, she is not and it would all be seen as dodgy if she was parachuted in

If the tories need a wet lib dem to win for them, they might aswell stop being called the conservatives, the only reason she does well in Scotland is because she's the loud mouthed opposition and union voice to Sturgeon, and going on the polling of about 500 tory councillers, she wouldn't win in the leadership election

For different reasons, she's finished if Scottish Labour get her act together

i thought she was the show winner a few months back and then saw where her support actually was, and the reality of her becoming leader and it ain't going to happen, just like David Miliband for Labour

Nobody but nobody even marginally sane would want to become leader of Tories. From start to finish they are swimming against an ebbing and flowing tide all at the same time. Way more time has to be spent herding the Tory cats than getting anything done policy wise never mind governing the country never mind at all trying to do a Brexit deal.
Best thing a sensible Tory party would now do is call an election and immediately throw in the towel. Give the damn hot potato to Corbyn. That should put him and labour away for about ten elections thereafter.

They all seem to be out of their depth, pretty much why brexit needs to happen so they stop slacking on the job

Exactly ... the public hand Westminster the control of the UK and MP's all at once throw up their hands in horror.

Why are MP's in Westminster which cannot do the job ?

Will be very interested in how Jeremy Corbyn justifies his U turn on the manifesto.

It's mostly because it's a popularity contest and they expect all the back office staff to do the research and policy creation now

I challenge this view - there is, perhaps, no 'Brexit deal' to be had at all.

Donald Tusk was, I suspect, correct to call it as a simple choice of 'Hard Brexit or No Brexit' at the outset: the UK electorate has been led to believe that there is a 'deal' obtainable, but there is in fact neither the time nor the political appetite for one.

The 'negotiations' are, on this view, merely a process of discovery of this fact.

But it describes you nicely, though...
You certainly have proved my point @Walterp about liking assumptions.

However unlikely to you I drove a lorry twice to Bosnia to a refugee camp (Muslim) with Notts police .Have more gay friends than maybe you have friends and hope I am open enough to see the good in anyone of any persuasion, country or creed not important.
I dont loathe anyone because of where they are born.!
