Is there a TV which has a record facility purely from freeview? It is for use where there is no internet and we didn't want to go down the route of a separate recorder and multiple remote controls.
Thanks
Thanks
Depends on your tellie probably; I believe for example on Samsung smart TVs you should be able to plug in a USB memory stick or external hard drive into the USB port on the back and then record the program you want directly from the channel schedule. I’ve not tried it though. Is there a TV which has a record facility purely from freeview? Consider a freeview box with record function onto a internal hard drive.
Just use the box controller leave the TV on HDMI input all the time.
Or did I read the question completely wrong

my samsung tv with a usb hard drive attached can record freeview and freesat programs. Is that what your looking for?
Hopefully not too tough. If the TV guide can be brought up (one button usually) then when program is highlighted, the record is one button on the remote. But I agree for "older" users the menu setup can be difficult to navigate ............
If you could get one with a record button on the remote.
Any 10 year old would have it sussed in minutes, no matter how complicated ...........

I think that’s what the OP wanted rather than multiple boxes and remotes which I agree confuses everyone (except my nine year old - who has figured out how to switch on the tv and change channels using a completely different remote when the tv remote has been confiscated )
He’s not allowed a phone, but he’s just be handed down a tablet (under the guise of reading more on the kindle app). No doubt he’ll figure out how to hack it with that. So that’ll have to disappear for a while too. Digital parentingEven if you confiscate all the remotes he’ll soon realise a smartphone app can do equally as good.
Our Samsung does this too.
Simply - press 'TV Guide' - navigate to the program you wish to record - press on the program - options come up - select 'record' - option to record the whole series or individual program.
Job's a good-un!
The world of TVs is very simple.
Samsung or if you want to spend a lot of money, Sony.
Don't forget a sound bar to go with it.
Agree completely about Samsung.
Never got sold on the sound bar idea though so can’t really comment.
