Is there a TV which has a record facility purely from freeview? It is for use where there is no internet and we didn't want to go down the route of a separate recorder and multiple remote controls.
Thanks

Consider a freeview box with record function onto a internal hard drive.
Just use the box controller leave the TV on HDMI input all the time.

Or did I read the question completely wrong

Depends on your tellie probably; I believe for example on Samsung smart TVs you should be able to plug in a USB memory stick or external hard drive into the USB port on the back and then record the program you want directly from the channel schedule. I’ve not tried it though.

Picked up a Technik freeview/DVD TV from the dreaded tescos which records freeview to usb. Nothing fancy but perfectly adequate. Not used that part but it's there.

Thanks to everyone for your answers, I was wanting something simple for an elderly relative. We have tried the separate box idea but they couldn't comprehend just using the box and not the TV.
I was hoping that somewhere out there was a TV with integral recording, I will look into the USB option.

my samsung tv with a usb hard drive attached can record freeview and freesat programs. Is that what your looking for?

Our Samsung does this too.
Simply - press 'TV Guide' - navigate to the program you wish to record - press on the program - options come up - select 'record' - option to record the whole series or individual program.

Job's a good-un!

But I agree for "older" users the menu setup can be difficult to navigate ............
If you could get one with a record button on the remote.

Any 10 year old would have it sussed in minutes, no matter how complicated ...........

Hopefully not too tough. If the TV guide can be brought up (one button usually) then when program is highlighted, the record is one button on the remote.

I think that’s what the OP wanted rather than multiple boxes and remotes which I agree confuses everyone (except my nine year old - who has figured out how to switch on the tv and change channels using a completely different remote when the tv remote has been confiscated )

Even if you confiscate all the remotes he’ll soon realise a smartphone app can do equally as good.

Easy- Samsung with big external USB hard drive plugged in the back. Can pause or record anything. Also very very cheap storage and you aren't tied to Sky etc.

Ideal for anyone who wants to view and store an episode of Nigella's Christmas dinner program so they can watch a same exact 20 second segment of her making pastry multiple times into perpetuity.

Thanks, that sounds like it will be the route to go down.

Current LG TV's have Netflix and Amazon buttons on the remote (y)

And Sony TV's can receive Kodi direct to the TV apparently
