Cab filters - spraying

Never understand why people think that a self propelled becomes safe when you stick carbon filters on it, but yet literally brush past the spray covered booms to get in the cab? Which are wrapped round the cab. IMO you want the booms as far away from the cab as possible.

I switch the fan off while spraying and turn the air con fully on while travelling and filling. It sometimes gets a bit hot in the cab, but folk pay good money to go in a sauna.
Not sure if that isn’t worse than the spray. I think I’d nearly die from the heat.
I put a carbon filter in and stay cool.

To have a sprayer without is criminally irresponsible from an employer's point of view IMO.
If an ex long-term employee whose job involved spraying were to down the track contract something like non Hodgkins lymphoma, then with the daily growing suspicion around cancer causing substance exposure, it would be increasingly likely, if not downright inevitable for them them to be going to the courts seeking compensation.

Charcoal filters should only be in when using the sprayer then removed and stored in the original packaging. Supposed to be replaced every year although the local New Holland dealer apparently only ever sells replacement charcoal filters to the local Department of Agriculture and Rural Development DARD farm which has orchards.
I use mine when applying disinfectants in poultry houses some quite nasty products .

I spray about 1000 hectares per year . Thats the total not the area of crops.
My spraying tractor is a 30 year old Fendt.
All the doors and windows have a good rubber seal still intact.
I change the carbon filter every second year. You can activate a flap that cuts off airflow from outside thus recirculating cab air whilst spraying and open it between fields.
I find this works for me and as l do all the spraying l dont have to consider anyone else.
The carbon filter cost €80 from the Fendt dealer. It can be swopped back out in 30 seconds. I know you are meant to change it every year but l stretch it to 2 as my area is not immense.
I never get a whiff of chemical in the cab.
On the other hand when my neighbour sprays his wheat next to us the stink lingers for a few days if it doesnt rain and we are all breathing this in. There is no mist or vapour the next morning obviously but the odour persists. Is this in any way harmful l wonder?

Emailed them a couple weeks back, no reply. Tried ringing them today (the number on their website) - beeps and says invalid number.
Does anyone have another number for them or maybe are they no longer in business or something? Cheers

Anyone found another good source for reasonably priced carbon filters yet?
Eastfield Engineering ceased trading 29th January.

Been looking for carbon filters for our NH today, dealer had a couple, not too expensive £45 each, went to fit them but they are only particulate filters not vapour filters which i would imagine you would need for a sprayer, any ideas where i can get the appropriate ones?
