The ballast had been buried and concreted over in 1935 and was dug out again just as we received it - the next year - a million poppies on the ballast heap.Ha ha,got hundreds of them growing round the yard and on a pile of crushed concrete.dont know where they come from but they do look nice.i must be getting old appreciating the simple things.

Purely for blowing pipes out when we finish or change fields and need to go another direction,we put a round sponge ball in the pipe, then blow it all the way to the end of the pipe in the field,it leaves the pipes empty of slurry so there is no mess in the field when you reel up at the endWhat is it for mtx.jag?
I’ve seen the umbilical boys tow them about but never known what they are used for.
Sponge balls? Aren't you fancy! We cut up the cushions from old sofas.View attachment 810596
