In 1995 we received some ballast from a pipelaying operation through a causeway. The ballast had been buried and concreted over in 1935 and was dug out again just as we received it - the next year - a million poppies on the ballast heap.

Purely for blowing pipes out when we finish or change fields and need to go another direction,we put a round sponge ball in the pipe, then blow it all the way to the end of the pipe in the field,it leaves the pipes empty of slurry so there is no mess in the field when you reel up at the end :poop::)
