Purely out of interest do you stop the chlorinated salads being shipped around WITHIN U.K?
No idea tbh

Will Boris be hoping to lose Saturday's vote? It's beginning to seem that he can't lose either way.
But who knows.
How do you stop for example lorry loads of chlorinated chicken crossing into the single market unless you stop them entering NI?
How do you know what items require vat or tariff rebate unless you actually check what items are moving across the irish sea
My understanding is there hs to be a joint committee formed to deal with the customs issue between ni and GB. Personal items are exempt but it was all depend on the future trading relationship too
System will rely on trust. Trusted trader status etc. But you know that already!
And G help you if it’s a chicken salad sandwich!Apparently.
Chlorinated salad is okay because its only washed with chlorine.
Where as. Chlorinated chooks are................?
And I think I heard that pies made with chlorinated chook can be exported to NI.
Where as. If you've got a chlorinated chook sarnie in your lunch bag when you get off the ferry the other side your out of order.
Hi, my comment was not intended to be facetious. Just that I presume it has to be trust as all current trading relationships rely on trust. Then there will be genuine errors and differences of opinions which the courts will sort out, in which case which court has precedence. And smugglers looking to make a buck out of differences in prices. So I suppose am saying not a lot different to the past. I am not an advocate of leave or remain as an ordinary joe not involved in import / export. Like your diagram. Cheers.
Just waiting to see Sinn Fein turn up to vote tomorrow.
More chance of Gerry admitting that he was in the IRA.Just waiting to see Sinn Fein turn up to vote tomorrow.
Long before brexit was ever thought of, there have been records of what crosses EU borders, its invisible and has worked very well, do you know what it is ? Also Southampton docks only checks 2% of all imports regardless of where they come from in the world, its all done on trust and paper and the odd physical check, no reason why the Irish border should be any differentHow do you stop for example lorry loads of chlorinated chicken crossing into the single market unless you stop them entering NI?

How does the silly cow think it works at the moment? she obviously has never run a business or filled out a vat formNot my diagram it also doesn't include paperwork on end destination
Was it a gun? , perhaps it was because they didnt have a import duty form, if you pay any duty uo front it should come straight in, how do you think you can get a part for say a combine overnight from the states? Ive bought stuff delivered from the states that arrived three days later, there are no fantasy borders they are for business very real and each month there is a record of everything you buy or sell over them and a tax record, in the new world it will be a tariff record at the same time, it will be a few more lines to allow for different tariff rates obviously but the principle is the same, do you really think that there are staff in places like felixstowe or harwich opening containers from china checking whats in them, I saw a programme about london docks the other night where they said they could unload the largest container ships in the world in a couple of hours, every container has a number and it is picked up by the customs apparatus and its contents are logged to see if its needs checking, if they are happy its sent on its way and the importer is billed for any tariff due, remember its the importers that pay the tariff not the exporter so there is no dodgy chinese business to try and get money from,I've had
I've had to pay customs duty for sonething small that cost about £100 coming from USA. Took 3 weeks to clear uk customs
Tell me more about these fantasy borders
EU are furious with parliament continuing games , Extension disappearing fast

Of course there is paperwork now for businesses, how do you think they account for VAT and profit and loss to HMRC, it will be just another form for the import office of a company to fill out, yes its a bit more work but Im sure if they import from outside the EU they have a software programme that allocates stuff whhere it should be and pays the duty to the Gov, and if ALL the politicians stop playing silly buggers and get it sorted it shouldn't be too onerous, of course if we all bought uk made stuff it wouldnt be an issue,2 paintings?
Ah but there was never any need until now to have customs paperwork to import anything apart from livestock from GB into ni. Under this proposed deal there will be and even more complicated if the goods are going into ROI
