How many decades would it take to reverse global warming???

As above,but a very complex question. As it would take such change in the human races habits, I do wonder if a reversal of global warming is realistically achievable, despite what X Extinction Rebellion say.

Well , we would have to give up the internal combustion engine ,flying, sailing and any other form of travel .all electric powered vehicles would have to go as mining the the stuff to make bstterys is raping the earth .the population of the world (around 7.5 billion ) would need to be cut in half.only eat what you can grow .and thats only the start

Depends how drastic the change to society actually is. Most people like bits of it, few would relish doing whatever it takes; stuff like a "one child policy", euthanasia, dying of easily-preventable disease for the greater good, growing the majority of their diets at home - it's dreadfully inconvenient

Every house generating much of its own energy via solar/wind. growing own food basics, hydroponically or own land, travel reduced to a minimum. working from home whenever possible, give the cities back to the people that want to live there. multiple land use, agroforestry etc

Iam old enough to remember the hole in the Ozone layer and the impending doom it was going to cause.... anyone know what happened to it? Is it still there? And I now find my self wondering how much truth the is in the global warming warnings?

At the moment, the hole in the ozone layer is at a safe enough size. Earth won't frazzle from solar UV as a result of human activities, thank goodness.

Apparently, the facts (f.a.c.t.s.) that there were safe alternatives to the chemical CFCs that had been causing the damage readily available, and there was international agreement to ban use of CFCs and related chemicals, undoubtedly saved the lot of us ?

The ozone layer continues to be monitored. Eternal vigilance, and all that. ?

Humans have only been here for a spec of dust measurement of time so weather cycles have not truly been understood long term in periods of stability possibly?

Yes. My parents have consumed more of the earths non-renewable natural resources than all of their ancestors combined. That's not an opinion, it's a fact.

With regards your OP, you need to replace 'global warming' with 'man made global warming' for the question to be relevant to us.
To answer that revised question. Given that it all went tits up in 1863 - which is 15 decades ago - you could say that with increased knowledge and technology the correct answer would be "less than 15".
