All heifers to sexed jersey, tell you in a few years if that was that right chioceUp to 4.7 and 3.7 now, not wanting a herd of 450kg jerseys so not sure how much further I’ll get, the NZ Friesian is fantastic on the British friesians though, breeding some real efficient cows. Lowering the mastitis rate has been an unforeseen bonus to.
Improving constituents has been a no brainier here on the Arla contract. It’s just a slow burner as even if you use the right bulls it’s years before they start milking.
We are laying concrete pad next week. We are putting a mueller in seems to be the silo of choice!Big tank sitting in yard. Concrete pad down. Just need steel for shed, power cable and so spare time

First year of growth always sweetens the milk cheque but the workload takes a bit of getting used toBad day, still milking, but off top of my head +7p on nearly half the litres.

Bit disappointed with that as butterfat was 4.35 last month except from a one week period at the beginning hopefully make up for it this month as milk is up to 21 litres and 4.5% bf and 3.6% protein at present
