I need to get hold of some eye ointment, the vets are saying there has been none available since May, Orbenin or Opticlox, anyone getting it from their vets?

Rumour has it that a small squib from a dry cow tube will do just the same thing, but at a fraction of the cost.

Don’t tell anyone though, or they won’t sell any more Orbenin.🤫

Jab of Alamycin 300 at the recommended dosage works for us. Did once buy AB eyedrops from Boots although she did ask to see the patient, told her I could bring the sheep in if she wanted. She shouldn't have sold them to me really but I wasn't going to complain.

Did a bull last week with a bad eye, after he'd been rubbing on a hay bale 🙄
Vets prescribed a jab of alamycin (at the normal lower dose), an ubro red dry cow tube and a jab of Metacam. He seems to clearing up grand 👍

Haven't had any for years, a jag in the eyelid with a cheap antibiotic saves all the messing about with ointment and tubes.
I have used teramycin 1ml and a very fine needle, best job. I read on here use blue spray, but I mentioned it to the vet, she said, don't as it stings because of the alcohol in the spray.

Years ago, I needed some fine needles for the job, so while out and about at work, I called in at a vet (not my vet) to pick up some needles, they would not sell me any! Why, I have no idea? If I was a drug user, I would not want to use those tiny needles, I would probably to into Wynnstay and buy a packet of normal needles. I felt it was just an example of our "health and safety culture" gone mad!
