they either trans ship at the border
haul by truck to the border
or have seen where thy jack up and change the wheels (although not sure how practical that was)

if the war stops but the russian blockade continues with grain at current prices the ukraine will find a way of getting the grain exported in high enough volume
road trains with 3 wagons to terminals in poland and romania
they can produce the grain cheap enough

Many will have seen 260 and sold in March
agent run farms the doctrine is sell at a profit or sell 1/3 pre harvest

the open interest on the London futures is 850000 tonnes

Some of last years pre harvest seller at 160 will have seen 260 and took it

storage and cash flow is often the motive for forward selling

long holders hold till after April every year

at 350 for nov grain is as much if not more than double what ive ever averaged for the whole marketing year and is well above what we look like averaging this year and thats very good so im asking myself why the feck dont I sell !!!

Wheat price has to get to a place where usage drops, by 10% maybe 20%, I don't think we are at that price yet

Wheat should always be dearer than oil

when wheat was under £80 a tonne oil was under 20$ a barrel and fertiliser under £100 a tonne
could not give wheat oil or fertiliser away then

when we all established our wheat crops in the ground in the autumn of 2020 for harvest in 21 where did we hope the price would avearge out at cos I reckon its more than double atm and for 2022 harvest its not far off, of course thats not taking into account the increase in costs but im fairly sure no one expected whats happening now

The by product from ensus is good protin product can be used in livestock rations to replace soya.

I was always under the impression that early ordering fert and selling a bit of grain forward secured the best hospitality on Leeches Row at Cereals.
