I've not had the invoice as yet but I'd say circa £0.50p/ Kg ish for them. It depends which galvanisers you use and if you can tag it on with a load of other work to spread the transport cost.

The tegs I moved yesterday seemed happy enough, then I hooked the mower on and knocked down 8 acres of a red clover and ryegrass mix I put in last year, then tedded it.

That’s a great hit of clover. Did you steer clear of sprays altogether when planting or did you try a clover safe one post emergence?

We already had pre ordered bacon and egg baps waiting for us at a burger van up the road, right next to where we were leaving the harvester.

These were planted as plugs a week ago as deep as we could get them. Various hoeings through the season will gradually bank them up.

Haven’t used any chemicals, this is my heaviest, dirtiest field and the clover struggled to complete with the weeds last year. I took two v light cuts last year to top the weeds (charlock, scarlet pimpernel & scotch thistles) I still have a couple of large areas of thistles which I will try and deal with before the next cut.

Finally got t2 spraying caught up this morning. Planet Spring barley..
Apparently my next job is helping to clear the pond and replace the liner. I'll give the better half ten minutes to catch the fish before I start

Thank you. Mostly the wife's department. I do lawns, hedges and winter pruning as well as the veg garden at the top behind the shrubbery..
