Anyone interested in splitting a load of “high pregnant“ heifers from Denmark?
Max on a lorry 50 but will send 40
Would need to be roughly in a straight line from Hull to here vis transport

PM me
not for us, but, out of interest, have been hearing the more recent Danish breeding, have resulted in 'not so good' cattle, true or false ?
we actually like the jer first cross cows, further crosses are less reliable, but we are toying with the idea, of AI ing our fr type bullers, with high producing jer bulls, some cows we have, USA/CAN jer x's, are quite impressive.

These would be pedigree jerseys from the dealer we've used since 2012.
Quality can vary but due to phosphate pressure in Denmark, better stock are back
All are in calf to sexed

Breeding by numbers with no interest in the pedigree, which is how the Dane’s do it, doesn’t cut it for me. We have used danish stuff in the past with some success, but lately they’ve been hopeless for bad feet, poor cell count and low fertility, all the things they are not supposed to be. But when you breed using a computer and the “computer says no”, you get trouble!

Interesting, I've found the opposite. My Danish bred JerseyX and VRX are up to 5th calvers and I have yet to lift a foot other than routine. The Irish JerseyX on the other hand, I don't think that there is a single one which hasn't been blocked at some point in her life. MontyX are little better.

used some N American jersey semen, with good results, bought 4 bullers by DJ Broiler, dirt cheap, look great, and generally think jx as first cross, are great.

The dainish bulls are getting too small and frail they are trying to even breed them smaller to save the environment. They arent introduceing uk nz usa canada bulls in there programs.I gave up on them years ago and have been crossing nz and usa bulls with good results the dainish are neither hardy or high producers

Why do Kivells send out their catalogues so late? Just had one in the post for a sale on 22nd.
It’s not like they don’t know they‘ve got the sale on ….

You can't be looking to buy many cows can you? I'm on the island, and there ain't much grass about anywhere and maize isn't looking too flash. Is there enough grub about to feed all these cows?
We thought we had plenty, but probably regret not taking 50 acres of WC a few weeks ago

Your Westerwolds germinated?
Was here 7 days ago with DG and it was certainly a fair bit healthier looking then. Was on a farm next door to you. Nearly rung you up to ask you to shut your bulling cow up, she was making a right fuss. Must have smelt some English folk
