I have had the misfortune to recover heads and put in body bags with the main torso twice. Both motorcyclists .

I can fully understand why three suicides and train drivers get compassionate leave

Incidentally the train driver also does all the pre journey checks, routine maintenance and coupling etc .
i hope you matched them up correctly. ( gallows humour, i'm a biker.)

aye, when i put my helmet on i say to myself "be bloody careful or i could lose a leg or worse". unfortuneately some bikers leave their brains at home. just hope we can avoid the clowns in volvos, hondas etc..

Looks as though the posties are going to come out as well. Good job I say. Should make everyone realise how totally irrelevant a daily postal service is. I would get rid of 50 % of the posties and go for every 2nd or 3rd day delivery. Why do we need a daily service?

As long as they come the day ABP put their bloody cheque in the post, I don’t care about the rest.
Absolutely ridiculous a firm that big pays by cheque anyway

Most of the posties around here are now part time, we're on a van round of which there are five, so the six drivers and a couple of bosses are now the only full time staff.

Over the last couple of years both here and Holmfirth have a lot of former walking rounds covered by two in a van working 4 to 5 hours a day.

Yeah its a rough job that the train driver has nowt too do with
I know iam being blinkers on here but if the train driver see's anyone before the train hits them aslong as nowt flys up across the trains windscreen is it that bad they cant handle it
be fine when they hit a Deer or Cow tho?
Ive not driven a train & have no interest in doing so but id be putting cow catchers on the front to push them out the way...
mad Max springs to mind...
I knew a big lad who used to drive HGV, one day a special needs child ran off the pavement and went right under the wheel. The mother who witnessed it told him that he was absolutely not to blame, but he never drove a lorry again

The lefties are taking over the asylum.
First half of every news bulletin is about the cost of living " crisis ", the second half about airport queues..........
What do you expect?
I heat my house with wood under the RHI, so only use electricity for cooking, white goods etc, and my leccy has doubled from £50 to £100/ month, Diesel is £1.99, food is going up. I've just had a payrise (incremental) and I'm actually worse off.

It's easy to see how someone who was on the edge before would be absolutely screwed now.

I think most people are unfortunately.

Most now seem to look at monthly payments, not how much something actually costs! Car salesman look at me like I've got 2 heads when I say I'm only interested in cost to change.
