Why wouldn’t you? Age is irrelevant. Ability to complete the task safely and proficiently are more important. Have you come into contact with some of the idiots that have just been encouraged into lorry driving but can’t back an artic to save their life but are far far older than 18.

silly question but looking for a serious answer: if the dolly was mechanically secured to the tractor would it still be classed as two trailers if an artic trailer was hitched?

It’s the handle on the dolly to release the trailer that has to be bolted. If they are able to be separated, then they’re classed as two trailers.
Supposed to take the landing gear off as well so it can’t be unhitched from dolly
Would guess you’d at very least need the number of axles changed on the tractors v5 for that argument
