trimble ez quide 500 no signal

hi. we have a trimble 250 on patch antenna and a 500 on the more accurate white antenna. however the 500 will not pick up signal. both are on the same sats [120aoe] but the 250 is working fine. im thinking maybe the antenna or cable has some problem. would anyone have any thoughts? thanks

Hi there, if you swap the Patch antenna from the 250 onto the 500 and you see satellites then its defiantly the co-axial or the receiver.

I'd then replace the co-axial 1st as this is much cheaper that the reciever

i have a new cable for the reciever and just tried it and the antenna on the 250 and it didnt work. i didnt take out the patch as it is not that easy to take out. a wet day job i guess

just thinking, would it be ok to just replace this antenna with the cheaper patch?really all it does is lime spreading but the 500 has an ez steer.
