Heard this said too from the horses mouth aswell.and the big farmers putting small farmers crops on their passports.got a friend doing this.what a farce it is
nick…

i think this is the way to sort this - a few assured farms “helping out” others and splitting costs

lets see RT prove where the crop came from ! according to Farmers weekly its possible to grow near double my yields and how do they know exactly how many acres we all farm ?

little choice but to fight dirty when dealing with companies that behave like gangsters

Sell it standing to your neighbour at £240/t, then it'll be bona fide assured as it's their crop. Nothing illegal or underhand about that.

Charge him £10/t for combining it. Neighbour can rent your shed for £5/t.

Neighbour can sell grain for say £260.

You might not have decided on the standing crop £/t until your neighbour has sold out of the store.

There's an old boy not far from us does all his spraying, has done all his life. No ticket or anything. The farm is assured RT .
He gets his RT and fully ticketed assured neighbour to invoice him every year for spraying. They have some sort of financial sort out later.

I am sure Grass and Grain will explain this better but RT are concerned about been investigated by the monopolies commission so as a loop hole there is another scheme available called Gate keeper, one simply form to fill in to get assured, only problem is the end users won’t accept grain under this scheme although RT recommends it.

The one that Tom Bradshaw was tasked with finding out all about, NFU, predictable response was it was cheaper and easier if we stuck to RT, a load of completely meaningless tests (certainly for uk grown grain) It was just a "seen to be doing something" exercise from NFU.
AIC/NFU/RT collusion means Gatekeeper is basically "not accepted" for uk grain and never will be thereby keeping their Cartel intact and payments incoming.

Im guessing this is why they have wanted what 3 words for store ident? To try and cut down on this. Sad when a private company turns honest people into criminals.
I told the rt inspector he DID NOT have my permission to use a w3w location on my grain store.
i keep valuable machinery in there and consider it a security risk.

he said he would just do it once he got home regardless,

if we get a break in I will point th police in his direction as he knows what’s in there and is sharing the location info with another organisation without my permission.

So I’m guessing you’d fail your inspection if you didn’t divulge what 3 words?? Multiple stores??
In the past I have helped out a neighbour re storage as lorries not available, guess that breaks their pathetic rules too!!??
How did uk Agg get itself into such a mess and I would question who is responsible but then I also assume that naming them will soon be classed as discriminatory the way it’s carrying on.
When it’s “law” fine but it’s not is it, just another pathetic box to tick

Because I'm demonstrating to you that it is clear abuse of marketplace power. I can of course sell it if I pay a fee to an independent company to give it a sticker. If we get this to court it will be a good and clear example of abuse of a dominant position under competition law

Is oilseed rape seed farm assured?
We have to be farm assured to grow seed, it’s in the seed contract.

The reason is quite interesting, it’s so the screenings (small grains and chaff etc) can be sold to go into stock feed! I’ve spoken to 2 of the companies we grow seed for and both gave the same answer. They aren’t really that interested about RT for the grain in the seed bag (Anyone ever seen a seed bag with an RT logo on it?).

I see AIC now have a seed treatment assurance scheme. Apparently not good enough operators have their PA certificate. It needs to be independently audited according to AIC.

How long before it becomes a RT standard, forcing all seed dressers to pay up to AIC.

Feldspar made a good point on Twitter. By default seed comes treated. Given IPM should stop us using pesticides unless necessary, maybe seed industry should take a look at the practice?

Not at all surprised, watch the little video at the end of their web page here: https://www.agindustries.org.uk/sectors/seed.html they are clearly set up to lobby hard for retaining universal seed treatments, regardless of risk or testing.

I bet you can’t guess who writes the standard seed contract.

Okay I’ll give you a clue it’s 3 letter and it start with an A.
