Oxford

Go on to Twitter, lots of chat re “look, I’m at Oxford, listening to important chat.”

Here = nada!

I was of the opinion that many of the debaters on here would relish a chance to hear from and chew the fat with the great minds of our industry in the hallowed halls.

Are none of you there?

I went once, 32 years since, certainly ‘an interesting experience’ lots of hot air, couldn’t get motivated to go again.
I suspect the ratio of hands on farmers, to associated experts and hangers on won’t have got any better

Exactly the same here, had a ticket through Young Farmers. Had to endure one meal sat next to a FW contributor telling me how wonderful he was. I came away wondering what the point was.

I think the reason it is not mentioned here is because most people are too important to worry about it. People have real lives to attend to, ramblers to intercept, memes to generate, machinery accidents to comment on, etc.

Quite right. as with others I had a crucial, highly important engagement that just couldn't be moved, I think it was to check a neighbour's field is still there, or get my nostrils plucked, something like that. (y)

I’m not sure if they spend any time talking about farming, I think it’s more about tweeting about the importance of diversity and bemoaning the fact that Jeremy Clarkson gets more airtime than they do.

I think perhaps you need to go, or listen to some of the presentations.

Rather have a pickhill than an Oxford😅

I believe my Dad went down and bought it directly from the manufacturer, and his brother had to stabilise it in the back of the mini-pickup to stop it rolling around, the best part of 100miles home🤣
