Aluminium oil cooler recore - where in Scotland?

As per the title.

I have an aluminium oil cooler that may need recored.

Who in Scotland would do this? Closer to Aberdeen the better.

Think there’s someone at Altens, used to be northern radiators, sorry don’t know what they’re called now.

They were bought by Richard Irvin and then sold to Glacier Energy.

Only do oil related stuff now.

Scotrad will fix it but Edinburgh based, hopefully you'll get someone closer but they will courier it.

if its what's known as a bar and plate type you will struggle to find anyone that will do them. I know its not local to you but if it is bar and plate type then i know a excellent company in Northampton that will remake any of them types in house, although you will find bar and plate radiators very expensive to repair, i would say in most cases a new one from manufacturer would be hardly any more expensive and quicker, Unless your in the same position i was when i need one were the equipment manufacture had gone bust and stopped supporting the product in which case you have no option but to find an alternative fix.

I heard of 2 in Aberdeen- Bon Accord radiators and Aberdeen radiators. I ended up buying new from Boston Motorcool in lincs who were spot on.

Newquay Radiators at Victoria,Roche, Cornwall fix that sort of thing and send it world wide .

Aberdeen Radiators were bought over years ago and no longer exist.

Bon Accord Radiators have disappeared without a trace.


Glacier Energy put me onto a chap in Torry who will pressure test it, but cant recore.

That’s maybe why I ended up going to a company in lincs
