Will Russia renew grain deal?

I wonder how much will get planted around the world with current prices. Must be a lot of marginal land that won’t stack up.
As per @7610 super q above, it doesn’t really matter what happens. 9 years out of 10 the USDA reports will mysteriously add up to a zero sum for supply and demand, and the markets will bumble along near ‘cost of production’ to keep us muppets knocking out cheap food for people who think we’re simultaneously destroying the planet and robbing them.

If the USDA were wrong there would be a mass shortage every year before the new crop arrives. Haven’t seen any pictures of starving Africans in a long time. Even when the Ukrainian ports were closed.

If putin shuts the grain corridor it be nothing more than a minor knee jerk reaction.

how many tons in % terms of global production come from those ports?

Doesn’t seem to be a guarantee that Putin will renew, https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-65565800
i wonder how much of the Ukrainian arable land is unavailable for cropping now and in the future due to being mined or still in an area of conflict. It’s not good news for feeding the world.

Saw something last week where they were saying 60% of the land couldn’t be used and historically it takes 25 yrs to clear land of mines.

Saw something this week where they were saying 30% of the land couldn't be used.

Think the point is we’ll never really know and I would think certain entities want the info remaining a secret so they can manipulate markets. Putin has done it before and no doubt will do it again.
