What stewardship option would decrease blackgrass rather than increase it?

No. But you must leave it 6 weeks between each cutting.
This isn’t a problem. We cut ours in June (very occasionally May) and then it is September before it is ready for a second cut.
Livestock will knock you over to get to it, compared to just grass haylage of hay.
Tends to be more clover in the 2nd cut.

Unknown. I did a chunk of legume fallow, ab6 and margins. But that scheme ended six months ago.
AB6 is a rotational option, yes. Do read the rules carefully though.

This is what I have done, not in stewardship though. Have had Lucerne in on an arable block for 3 years, might come up this autumn. You do need to find a keen dairy farmer to buy it which in my case is also me. Only downside for me is the long haul.

SW7 arable reversion, guidance says you can do this in conjunction with SW14, nil fert. Combined payment £482/Ha.
What I can't find is any instruction on how many years you have to leave it in place for. I know the correct answer in the spirit of the aims is 'forever', but what are the rules ?

Yeah, read that, what it doesn't say is for how many years you have to comply for, unless I missed it ? Or to put it another way, how many years do you get the payment for ?
It doesn’t say anything other than the standard 5 year term. Just don’t make it interesting enough to require an Environmental Impact Assessment in order to plough it up at the end!
