Completely unnecessary finishing touches!

I almost fell foul of my poor grasp of the English language!

Are you on a single phase welder
Yes, afraid I'm too far from the 3 phase supply to make it economical to install. So the welder is single phase. My radial arm drill and lathe are both 3 phase working (to a limited extent) of a phase convertor. A bit of a newby to MIG as well, so go with the synergic settings on the welder. If that's not working, I'm never to sure which setting to adjust!

MF 5712SL top link holder. They reverted back to the 300 series hook around the bottom of the top link holder, absolute waste of time, not only does it swing about a lot, but it isn’t the most confidence inspiring think. Anyway it finally gave up last week. I wasn’t going to pay for another, a few bits of scrap/off cuts and it’s a major improvement.

@Larel great bit of ingenuity there for the accessory rail. Just a thought but have you got enough room to do two 45 deg bends in place of that 90 deg corner. If there was ever an event with the tractor rolling over etc that corner looks like it could potentially do some fair bodily damage.

Not any more now I have painted it! But yes that would be a good shout if I was to remake it. This is my MK1 version, the manufacturers version goes from the door pillar an up to the roof, which writes off access through the far side door, hence my reason for making it a bit shorter and going downwards with the support rather than up, hopefully maintaining access through that side. Not exactly sure what will end up on it yet, list so far is for the baler control box, phone and maybe a screen for a camera looking at the pick up hitch. Will see how they all fit on. I am gathering bits for a Agopengps autosteer system for my other tractor which might get replicated here if I can get it operational so might need to hang a toughbook tablet off it yet!

We have a simple bracket in each cab done the same way so monitors and the likes can be moved easily, all you need is a short bit of 50mm box and 50mm flat, a nut and bolt.
Slice about 3” of 50mm box along its length so there’s only a narrow strip of it, say 8mm deep, then weld it to the flat, drill a hole in the centre of the box and weld the nut to it. You’d probably also get away with a bit of 50x25mm box.
That way you can just drop a small bit of 40x5mm flat into it and tighten the bolt to hold it in place. I weld a bit of round bar to the bolt to make a t handle. Makes it easy to move stuff about but also holds them secure and easy to keep them at the right angle for you as you can just make each monitor bracket to suit.

I use an outside piece of lemon tube fastened onto monitor bracket, inner pieces fastened onto different monitors, 6mm wing bolt through welded on nut on outside piece to tighten it up, slacken bolt, slide monitor out, slide next monitor in (no smut please),nip bolt up, job done, worked for the last 6 tractors I have had.
