GTL & equivalent fuels ? Is that GTL and HVO ? Last time I asked our local outfit ( Certas) as they seem the only ones I can find around these parts that supply GTL there seemed to be a BIG difference between it and normal red. So interested to know if your figure is a realistic guide to the difference between red and GTL...PLEASE?
The price quoted there is the price for BFS gas ultra.

We can also offer Shell GTL for £0.9375/litre

My deal this week and I, ll never ever beat it again. One of my non farming customer has recently switched to air source heating from oil.
He no longer needs his oil tank. I had a look inside and thought hmmmmmmm there is more than 500 litres of kerosine in there.
Made a few phone calls regarding of pumping it out of his tank and into mine. While the tanker is there i will top up my tank.
They charged me £150 to pump out and it turns out that there was 1100 litres in there!!
I then had 500 litres @0.74 to fill up my tank.

The non farming customer wanted no payment for the fuel. But he does like steak so i will insist that he has some.

Friend who is a plumber was told by the local council some time ago not to fit anymore gas or oil boilers only air sourced heat pumps, now due to mounting unaffordable electric costs for tenants who'd had them fitted they have been told to now go back to fitting gas & oil boilers & not air sourced heat pumps.

There's a major push on some eco4 grants around here at the moment where they insulate your house and put a air source pump, change your plumbing and rads and put solar panels up to power it,all free of charge if you qualify. Facebook is filling up with second hand tanks half full of oil.

Nothing is ever free, some poor devil always ends up footing the bill further down the line, the so called savings will cost taxpayers a fortune for years to come. Not sure there would be many council tenants who might just qualify running oil fired boilers

My folks have had the farmhouse done. Cavity insulation (70’s extension), external stone walls internally insulated 65mm and boarded, plastered. Complete new heating system with big rads, 250litre vessel and 16kw air source heat pump. 5kw of solar. Folks added on 6kw of battery. Must have cost £80k.

All grant funded at no cost.
