Milk Price Tracker

Still persevering despite the awful weather. We have just been letting the first half of the cows through the parlour out at night for the last few days and they will all be in at night by the weekend. Everything still grazing by day.

What theshholds are different firms bscan penalties set at out of interest?
Our bscan has always been poor on this tenancy, previous farm we would be 7-15, we are now running at average 33.

Being encouraged to pre dip, but that’s extra 7 hours a week in a parlour and I reckon parlour costs £35 hour to operate so the financial gain on milk cheque is soon wiped out.

0.5ppl bonus under 30, 0.1ppl bonus under 50, penalties after. Ours averaged 44 last month, not sure why it is a bit high at the moment, normally manage around 25.

I try not to worry about it too much, better things to worry about unless they start getting fussy about it and it will probably sort itself out. We just dry wipe, post dip. Cheapest dairy chemicals we can buy. Even if I missed every bonus, I am still better off financially than pre dipping and using better chemicals.

I’m not to worried but had milk buyer chasing for improvement. The penalty for me is less than 4% of my milk price so not high up my to do list

We are going back out tomorrow. It’s amazing how well the land is still draining where the cows haven’t been for the last 6weeks. In a perfect drying world we have 2 weeks still to go at.

No sorry, think our base is around 34 from memory. Seems like a larger variation than normal at the moment but I guess the general volatility in the market is adding to that.

Aurivo was givin us some sort of sustainability payment but now the winter bonus is on theyv axed it. Was told united got a wee lift to 30.5
Lakeland have cut £20/T off their dairy feed. This is to encourage us to keep feeding to keep their supplies up. It's pish poor. In January I'll be in the fat ring with anything not in calf or looks at me sideways. Have to keep them for the 3ppl winter bonus in Nov and Dec.
