If you have the bank on your phone, scroll through to automated payments, standing orders and direct debits and cancel the appropriate direct debit.

Edit, it takes 5 minutes and no need to waste time in the call centre.

It's that simple. By doing this, you are in control of your own money..You can rejoin at any time.
Got second reminder today to reinstate my DD. 'kin idiots.

can only base decisions on todays reality can't we - right now the £'s is on offer and its a 3 year agreement

I'm not going to start predicting what will be the situation in 3 years time but nothing in SFI is permanent, if you mothball food production you can always un mothball ! 100% SFI still requires a drill / tractor and topper / some labour
You can 100% mothball grassland on SFI by just shutting the gate £330/ha plus what you can get for the hedges trees. the payment is nowhere near as good as arable can get but there is no cost. bet its more than a lot are making pot of beef/sheep

I'm livid about this, and I hope British Farming Union will hold NFU, RT, AHDB and the other farming unions to account over it.

Read on....

According to F Weekly article, Red Tractor planned to introduce the GFC to help several supermarkets meet their “WWF basket” commitments to source 50% of produce and grains and 100% of meat from environmental schemes by 2030.

So, I decided to look up what the "WWF basket" actually is.

Remember, the GFC aims to help supermarkets fulfil their "WWF basket", and introduction of the GFC was "unanimously" agreed by the Red Tractor ownership board.

Well, take a look at what NFU, RT and AHDB have signed us up to...

Greener Farms Commitment
RT, NFU, BRT and AHDB are all involved but only us stupid farmers are the ones that they want to be commited .....

...... it's a bit like a bacon and egg breakfast - the chicken is involved but the pig is committed.

Expect a Boiler plate letter from your Local branch and Renewals.

Possibly a call or email from the County Chair, if you are deemed important enough.
Ha, got call from Chairman and the other council delegate and comms with Tom Bradshaw. And NFU sec. I am unlikely ever to renew unless something good comes out of this review ie a full retraction and a democratically elected president.

Take a look at stirks at Sedgemoor last Saturday. . . I’ve not been fa since horsegate burger scandal.
Now is another watershed moment. . . .You gotta take individual responsibility and walk not just keep paying the racketeers.
I have not being RT or NFU for the last two years and it really hasn't made any difference. We, as an industry have been sold down the river by all these parasites. There needs to be some serious discussion and co-operation amongst farmers to turn this malicious tide.

This has massive parallels with the current government chaos. Both scenarios are being driven by the elite who think they can walk all over those they represent.

Red Tractor's Greener Farms Commitment.

Turns out it's linked to the "WWF Basket", which wants to reduce advertising spend on meat/dairy, and reduce meat consumption by 20%.

NFU Deputy President said the "principle" of the GFC was good. Seemingly, if what F Weekly has printed is correct, they will have known about the GFC being introduced to back up the WWF Basket.

I can't understand how any farming organisation would help WWF/Tesco when their blueprint is to reduce meat intake by 20%. It will devastate our industry which is already under massive profitability pressure with BPS vanishing.

It wouldn't just affect England. It would affect whole of UK.

Farming representatives on RT Board have either knowingly agreed to this, or were asleep on the job.

I would be very sceptical on being able to return from 100% sfi, to 100% cropping in years to come if ne, get there teath into your business threw the areas of 're willing that are on the web of defra,, ajcc, is a point in question. I don't trust them govs, change and all that
