Best utv

What ages? I can imagine the bigger ones/double cabs must be a lot tougher on everything. I know of several Polaris Diesels with the Kubota engine and all have been faultless.
Not sure they look new ish probably under ten years old. I think the 6 wheel ones put a lot more stress on things as you say

And the longer wheelbase too I’d expect! The older ones with Yanmar engines were shocking, my dealer wouldn’t let me even demo one. Kubota engine in ‘19 changed them completely

Strange that yanmar are quite renowned for their diesels
Our utv is yanmar , to be fair the engine is good but I am getting peed off with the rest of it
From what I understand the whole machine got renewed. Like comparing a 2015 Land Rover defender against a new style one. Polaris did the same when they moved from yanmar to Kubota, gearboxes/drives/cab/suspension, all got changed and upgraded

Be interested to see prices when the time comes .
Our Corvus is a good buggy but the backup from the factory is slow , can’t fault the dealership but I won’t buy another without major changes

The gamekeeper on one farm has 6 Polaris 6 wheel ones he has on average 2 working out of the 6 seems to be broken down a lot. Snaps driveshafts bearings and gearboxes go which are thousands to fix. It’s rough going though
The first diesel ones were the same! Be around 2012-14. The suspension sat too far up and there was too much angle on the universal joints and they used to eat them. Gamekeepers are very good at wrecking stuff tho! Once they altered the design so they run more level they have been very little bother unless the rubber boots split.

One of the best things about the ranger is the fact it’s light,to travel on wet ground you want to be light.
Indeed, as with most things "horses for courses".

Even our local Kubota dealer will tell you that if you want a light nimble ATV then don't buy a Kubota, *edit* - not a diesel one anyway.

In fact they now sell Corvus alongside the Kubota.

Good to read the comments I run a Suzuki 500 do about 800hrs a year costing us a fortune in petrol was thinking to keep that and have a utv aswell
We’ve cut mileage down from 6-8000 mile a year per quad to 3000 per quad plus the polaris is doing longer runs because now we’ve taken on land further away because we can tow the Rappa behind the polaris and the other person takes a box 👍🏻
This morning for example, set of reels, 7 batteries and both kids, did 40 mile, popped into shop to get some bread and lunch for the kids then carried on checking, can’t do that with the quad..

Bought a Polaris diesel september 2020, faultless and apart from 2 sidewalls failing on the tyres it hasn’t been on stop once! We still use the quads most of the time as their quicker but for going to farms further down the road the polaris is mainly used
Has our Polaris a year and that gets threw tyres😡the mud terrains they come on aren’t designed for road work and crack

local tyre fitter said to try some BKT all terrains

Yeah the kendra’s went like this
IMG_7584.jpeg

dealer couldn’t new ones in fast enough so fitted behemoths.. seem ok but do seem narrower than the old chunky kendra’s.

how many miles in the year?
Don’t no but will be a lot the buggy is never parked up for long and weve a farm 5 mile away it goes back and forth to everyday plus all the miles round fields and home ect

apart from the tyres the Polaris is great we got a 3 year old gator before buying it new but only kept it 6 month because it was nothing but problems

Yr old gator like triggers broom.....
Kept that and just got another new 1. Would have tried a Polaris but no local dealer and JD offer excellent backup with service and parts. Does a lot, 40-50 miles a day every day. Can't beat checking round in the warm and dry, heater and radio on. Can take everything with you for the inevitable sheep ailment but usually try keep back empty as to keep weight down unless moving fences where rappa mounts on the back and can comfortably fit x4 600m systems in.

Can you hear the radio ?
Our Corvus is noisy, strangely it’s remarkably quiet outside , think I’ll get some soundproofing in it
I agree it’s great having a heater and being able to check stock in a dry cab, I really don’t miss the quad at all in winter

I was under the impression it was a Kohler engine that was troublesome.
