Vario power sap

Seen this video, now the case could be mapped out more but the difference here is vast so got me thinking is the agco vario far more power hungry than the nh cvt?
Had demo of case 175 cvx jd6155r and the JD just had the edge with the same load. Both will outpull the fastrac with an agco gearbox plenty folk will say it's software but ive tried a fendt and found it fairly dead.
A mate had a t7.250 power command and it would absolutely pee all over an 828 fendt at silage on the road

From my own experiments earlier in the year on a modest incline there was very little difference.

On a steady and increasingly punishing hill on road a difference of about 15% opened up.

Why not tho ? We compare brands every time we demo for a new replacement and they're all around the same hp.

Because software in both the engines and gearbox varies within brand let alone between brand.

I’ve no problem one being compared to another if it’s apples for apples, but the differences are way way more than just raw power.

Looking at ops video doesn't in any way show any parasitic transmission loss whatsoever.
All your seeing is the difference between amount of torque/ hp the software parameters have allowed the transmission to apply to wheels.

Last Profi mag had a very good comparison of that.

Yeah I get that but them tests always look fair enough to me same load on different brands over the same run what else can you do ? Just like an on farm demo 🤷‍♂️

I just watched it. Either the mf or mf driver is very slow at getting away or the case operator is getting the jump on him off the line and I've no idea of the models or horsepower but if they are equivalent under the bonnet the case looks way better to me it wasn't as far in front on the second run but certainly looks more lively

Its a case 165 cvx and a mf 7718, cant just see for sure but looks like a dynavt, both models pretty similar in power, both 6 pot, both the largest of the small wheelbase in thier series. Case is probably chipped out further but its that bad lookin for the mf the case could nearly of done it twice in the time it took the mf

It's pretty bad if it is opened up as that's not fair at all .

We've a mapped tractor on farm and it's very good compared to a standard one so if they are doing comparison then they should be standard

Im just guessing, but even it had an extra 20hp it shouldnt make that much difference

i would say the case is chip or mapped if you look on the second run when they start off theres black smoke from the case which they don,t do unless they been messed with

Hence pointless unless they were both dynoed the same just before hitching to the trailer

20 hp makes a big difference I’ve a chip that you can adjust even on it’s a low setting you can get an extra gear up steep hills when hauling a loaded trailer it’s amazing really, it will be loads more torque rather than hp

Far too many variables to be accurate, power, torque, torque curve when the box is set to ratio down, weight, wheel slip, ballast, tyre size, tyre make, tyre pressures…

It’s why proper lab testing is the only way.

Could be 100 horse difference in those two as well.
