Unless you can save half the price doing the kit I’d just go with them, nuts bolts, paint, straps all add up. That’s on a 18ft 14ish/17ish tonne trailer
I'm reasonably confident I can save half the price.

The trailer it's going on isn't exactly brand new 🙈

That’s a bloody good buy if it was circa couple grand, wouldn’t get it for twice that here. Like the tractor too! Don’t see many reasonably modern 2wd any more, and I would really fancy one
It was an online only sale late Sept time. Not advertised all that well. And nearly 200miles away. Only spotted it online the night before 🤦‍♂️ Fortune favours the brave (or as I put in the other recent auction thread, "old enough and ugly enough to stand by my own decisions, buyer beware")
I did get extra pics sent though.

We had borrowed a trailer exactly the same harvest time and I thought if one came up, and wasn't silly money I'd have a go. So I did. £2050. Tips fine, bearings don't have acres of play, all lights work bar one bulb. It'll do 👍

That TL70a was our main tractor till our Claas Axos came along in 2013. At some point in the future, that NH would be the next to change/upgrade.
That may be a while though......I've sheds I want to get up first, while planning laws are benign towards farming, at some point they won't be and I don't want to regret not doing the most I can.

Looks very similar to our old AS marston 10t, I made a couple of arches /-\ flat on top with 25mm box and got a sheet with eyelets all around edge and threaded some elastic rope through them, fixed to edge of trailer on 1 side with 3 stops to roll the sheet against, another length of 25mm box along the long edge of sheet to roll it up with, just remember when ordering sheet to make it slightly bigger than trailer top to allow for overlap, when out just hook the elastic loops onto trailer hooks to hold it down, a ratchet strap front to back would probably be enough to stop it dipping in the middle but I did use a bit of light weight pipe, depends how professional you want it, a covertec kit will come with arches, poles and fastening straps to your choice

The borrowed trailer gave me a few pointers 👍
We have rollover sheets on our 6 and 8t trailers already, which there are bits I like and bits I don't so that'll drive what I do on the 10t.

It's why I started the thread really, as to the benefits or not as to a centre pole. Which will then be incorporated into what I do.

I've found a couple of places that'll do tilts as I like. Also straps/rachets I've got, bolts, rivets etc in stock.

Trailers just under 5mtr long and 2.4mtr wide so 5x3m will do.
