To me it sounds like there moving the goalposts from the original brief cos things haven’t panned out like they expected. Or in simple terms trying (and failing) to cover there cock up up!

the sensible thing for CT to do would be take all views on board and compile a report from that.

I'm getting as confused as they are now.

It seems, as usual, that the more lies told then the more muddled The Non Farming Union and their friends at RT become, all blaming each other and doing their best to cover up for themselves.

Looks like what happened was when they decided on a review it was to be hushed up and farmers wouldn't get a look in or know anything about it until after the event. They originally intended this to be the only questionnaire, sent only to their own pals all on the other side of the fence to farmers. They got caught out again, and once they realised the cat had been let out of the bag and farmers had got hold of it and were furious, then to save their face they told us that all along it had been planned that a second questionnaire was to be sent out to farmers . They never had any intention of a second questionnaire for farmers to be included in the review.

The Minister is going to have to get involved soon.

You cannot have the NFU working in secret for the retailers whilst claiming to represent farmers. It ain't on. NFU Council may be captured or afraid of Batters and the top team but other farmers are not.

The farming industry needs nurturing for a host of reasons not ruled over by crooks

I think the letter from the defra Secretary of State today was a positive example of how farmers are valued. The chap spoke of world beating standards without mention of the parasites at red tractor.

Yes it’s obvious now that despite what the NFU originally said and what the 1st review brief outlined the goal posts have been taken off the pitch. And a lot of toys been thrown out of the pram By various bodies that should know better than to treat farmers like they are doing!

Were currently still NFU members but unless they sort themselves out we will have no choice other than to cancel the membership.

Edit - and to be honest if needs be I would 100% support a red tractor mass walkout, And as a final throw of the dice even on a rented farm such as ours I believe if we sold 95% of the kit and all the stock then put everything into SFI and just bought a big topper we could have enough income and money invested to make a living if needs be without having to deal with a lot of this shite!
