Pickups, comfy, when did this happen?
We have D max pick up and a VW tiguan all three daughters would rather travel in the back of the pickup than the VW I personally haven’t been in the back of either. my pickup is a cheapo it hasn’t got cruise control and that’s the only thing I miss between it and a car

I have a 3.2 Wildtrack and my wife has a Kuga ST. The Kuga is a good car but if I had the choice for a long journey I’d take the p/u
Up to recently I would have chosen a car every time but this Wildtrak is the first one that I wouldn’t mind driving long distances in. However, I have a gripe or two. Minor ones.

They have cheapened the seats with less padding and adjustment compared to my 2014 model. The size of it for parking in many places is on the larger size of convenient. The side decal grill and rear bumper have been cheapened. Everything else is great, including its performance and fuel consumption.

Continuing the facts……………

Postman Pat, comes in a van.

Scooby Doo and the gang, come in a van.

Del boy and Rodney, had a van.

Jones the butcher in Dad’s Army, used a van.

Guy Martin, loves his van.

The A Team ( if you can find them, and no one else can help ) came in a van.

Jean Claude ___ Damme, actor.

Dick ___ Dyke, actor.

___ Morrison, singer.

___ Gough, one eared painting fella.

___ Helsing, vampire hunter.

Mate had his 19 plate izuzu truck road tax reminder yesterday and price was double to last year??
Is his memory working properly? Should be £320, up from £290 if I remember correctly.
EDIT… Below are the old tax rates before the price rise. In certain circumstances, perhaps some pickups may have had the £140 tax rate and are now £320, which is news to me but the table from the DVLA may indicate that it is possible. I was right about £290, which is what I used to pay on my 2014 Ranger.

Registered on or after 1 March 2001

12 months tax6 months tax
Early euro 4 and euro 5 compliant vans£140£73.50
All other vans£290£152.25
