My mate has these ear muffs for shooting , they have switch to block noise but switch it and it enhances noise so you can talk with them on , i know im a tiny bit deafer than i should be and asked him for a go , they were bloody fantastic i could hear much better ! Maybe give them a try ?Got hearing aids 4 grands worth. They help but still difficult

And mine. The only saving grace was that she could turn her hearing aids off when Dad had the tele on, always so loud that we could hear it across the farmyard. Not that there was anything wrong with his hearing of course, oh no.
Unfortunately I know that I’m well down the same road, as Mrs NeilO keeps reminding me.

Deafness imo get discounted as a minor disability but imo its massive , i saw my mother withdraw frim her friends as she couldnt hear so stopped going out with them …. Which is a big thing when your old ….. deafness is big problem bigger thsn many think with more symptoms as simply unable to hear ….And mine. No. Just loaded wheat and off to the feed mill. Seems others are having a snow day so I got asked to deliver. Not nice out the wind will nearly shave you but I’m getting a short notice bonus
