I drove one on front mounted buckrake for a bit, as above the single drum brake was hopeless, it was mounted on a separate block with double bearings, I did see 1 where someone had added another drum on the back of the block. Also saw an 1805 here carting beet with trailer on 5th wheel coupling, they had fitted truck braked hubs on all 4 corners, air op.

Here you go- not quite a help, oddly thinking of op this is at S and P, Lavenham, Suffolk. They had 1200s for sure in the day, not sure about 1505. This tractor was there much later, early '90s for contractor.
Sounded good, as said nothing there if you let revs drop, but it did push a load in nicely.

They only have one drum brake mounted on one of the drive shafts !
And when we researched the part numbers for one a few years ago, they were Chevy truck parts.

This one has had a second drum brake fitted too. the drive shaft comes from the bottom of the transfer case in the front half, through the bendy join and through this set of drums mounted on a cross member, then another drive shaft to rear axle. No brakes on axles.

Now going back a lot of years and I may have dreamt this, but knowing a bit about 1200s when me and my superior colleague came across a 1505 for the first time it was a gearbox out job. I think the done thing with 1200s was to pull the box up into the cab then out the door, we got the box of the 1505 up into the cab but it wouldn't go through the door. Plan B drop the box down onto the floor lay it over and pull it out from under the frame, not enough clearance, ended up jacking up and blocking all four corners up by 6 or 8 inches then sliding the box out.

Basically the 1505 only had a transmission brake. This is similar to the handbrake on a Land rover. The brake was only really used to stop the tractor from moving whilst stationary, they were never really designed to stop the tractor from speed.

Perhaps it’s just as well that required braking standards for agricultural machinery has moved on. ;)

I wonder if anyone can help with some history? This 1505 came from a dealer in Wales , he had lost the log book and knew very little of the tractor. He thought it might have been new to Strutt and Parker Farms , who I think don't exist as an entity any more to ask? I believe it only had another main owner after them and has obviously been tidied up and had a coat of paint at some stage. I am waiting for replacement documents but they may not show anything useful or may prove to not exist....... we shall see.
Anyone know of it in the past? It needs a decent silencer exhaust pipe as it is deafening at full blast. But you just can't beat a Cat V8 rumble :)

Fisher farms at southminster in essex had one in the 80s on dual wheels but with one exhaust up each side of the bonnet.They sold it to Bakers at hullbridge in essex but they parted with it possibly 10 years ago but dont know who bought it.

Used to watch it cultivating at Lovedown after stubble burning in the late 80’s
