Someone sent me a pic of them planting tattles at Anstruther at the weekend. looked like the prairies. All the while my quad bike bogged in the turnip field ………againIt’s fife , there are no hills . Just gentle slopes and shade under the palm trees !

We get it in the cake but I feel there’s not much in it. DB mineral buckets might help or some other onesFirst ewe dead with mag this morning. Got it going into food in the load coming today. Bloody sheep.
Going to try a mag bolus to the ewes this time , the buckets help but just not enough , never used to get that much bother ….maybe should change back to mag lime but feel the calcium lime is helping the clay land betterWe get it in the cake but I feel there’s not much in it. Food for thought right there ! Ive been thinkingDon't ever let your land know you're poor! Lime would be before a loader and a shed roof!
Not enough cake, need at least double thatWell so far, the first one to lamb has earnt a cull tag by having bugger all milk but being fat herself, and the other 4 so far are milking well with twins on. Just had one lamb, second was coming head first. Quick rearrange and she’s got 2 cracking lambs on her now. Plenty of milk. So I’m hoping the first one was just a general dick and the rest are the norm. Got 3 Cheviot mules not just milking how they should be. But they are just lean enough for my liking. The weather really has made a balls of my ewes this time. Good Haylage, Mollasses, SF carrots and just over a lb of 18% nuts a day and there are still too many of them that aren’t like house sides.
My apologies, typed wrong. That should say each end of the day.Not enough cake, need at least double that
Think our busiest day was a couple of years ago one easter Sunday. We'd been fairly quiet and our assistant asked on the Saturday night if she could have the Sunday off so we agreed so was just me and the Mrs. We counted 430 left to lamb on the Saturday night, when our assistant came back on the Monday morning there was less than 300 left, we knew we were busy but just knuckled down and got on with it, was surprised when we counted up on MondayWouldn’t want anymore than that, had 104 in the 24 hours. Lost a lot of lambs in that time though. I do think there is a toxo problem lerking about as seem to have far to many triplets that never get going enough to drink or one rotten lamb. Aiming for 200% is putting a bit of pressure on myself, my predecessor did 199% and 198% twice.
That sounds betterMy apologies, typed wrong. That should say each end of the day.
Not good.ive had better results with sections on sheep than I have with cowsFACKKKKK! bloody ringwomb in one of the share farm ewes! can just about feel the lambs moving. Oh well, first time I’ve ever sent for the vet to do a section on a ewe
