Another afternoon cutting it into the top crust. Patched 4ha out of the 8ha. Hopefully the LL will finally consider this for drainage 🤞

Found some random items again, the joys of farming next to the village 🙄

Thought I was done patching, then remembered on the way home I had this bit to do. Far to wet to drill ( had to use diff lock on the other field in a few places ) so stirred it with the subby. Hopefully get it drilled tomorrow afternoon 🤞

Yes, this field would do this on a normal wet winter when ploughing and combi drilling, only difference was you had no warning when you sank and went in a lot deeper.
Its needed draining for years, just can’t get it done 🤷🏻‍♂️
Bit like the bungalow roof, that’s leaked for over 20 years, they even put solar panels on it and didn’t mend it, now the timbers are giving up. The joys of renting 🙄
Half of my patch really wants to be wetlands, on winters like 2019 and this year it’s has basically reverted to it.
I’ve done a mix of deep cultivars leaving untouched stubble, both ways have resulted in lakes, just the stubble ones are easier to deal with.
I’m not saying DD is the panacea, I still have doubts about continuing.

As far as we go, when we're playing at lambing, today was a massive day. 14 lambed, and as it goes this year, full of fun. Our old friend Mr. Stripey had snacked on a new dropped twin in the night. I have a picture but I'll spare you 😕 Pulled twins after breakfast that were coming on top of each other (both dead), another set of twins with heads back but alive, pulled one coming feet and head together, but an easy fix, and this massive hung lamb. You can't tell from here, but his head is twice what it should be. Amazed he's alive, but he's had plenty of colostrum tubed into him, and his mum loves him, so he'll be supping himself soon 🤞
