Frost on the ground in parts this morning and we have 45 acres of maize going in today.

I'll let you know in a fortnight wether it was the right call.

Hope to get a photo up later.

We drilled some spring barley on Tuesday. When I was driving up to pick up the left over seed we had a light shower of rain. Surprised me but while I was up there the ground started to steam (possibly not the best photo but you get the idea) so it’s obviously warmer than I thought.

Nice conditions, are there many lemken maize drills about, not seen one before
We like it. If you look carefully you will see each unit looks a little wider than normal that's because it actually drills two rows about 5 inches apart with the seed spaced alternately.

Will also do tramlines by shutting one of the pair down and halfing the spacing on the other row.

Really irritates me when someone works a field and then drives across the worked ground to get out or the drill man does the opposite, little things I guess 🤣
The field had changed since last year and he found himself coming in the middle of a side not the corner as he had expected. Can't believe in 45 acres I managed to take the one photo when there will have been 30m of wheelmarks.
