Hope you do get help even with just someone to push them on. We often do 3-4 things at once but brain fog often sets in. Between us we don't miss anything getting done. But on your own 😯
Iv always worked on my own so used to it. We buy 3000 mule gimmer lambs, when they land in 600 sheep loads they have to have 5 treatments, this year 2 groups got together so have been run as 1200, that’s a big group to put through and took 2 whole days to crutch them in February.

Poor start to the 2nd cycle today. Two hung blackies this morning 😭 both with a leg back. We had to roll them up to get them out. First one was too big and already dead.
Second a gimmer, very tight and the lamb a bit oddly chunky for a blackie. He died in the process but we did CPR etc and eventually he came to. The gimmer was obviously a bit stunned, so we brought them in for observation and deep joy, she has an udder like a mouse. Miniscule teats. Black tag. He got a belly full of colostrum from the other ewe, who will be his wet nurse for a day or two.
What a lot of work one sheep can create. And she also was bought as a hogg 😡.

Mine started like that, 25 dead lambs and 6 dead ewes before I had a live one. Lost almost nothing since though, last 5 days lambing have been probably the best of my shepherding career. Averages it self out.
Funny it's always the same, a bad start or good start, then turns around. A start like yours is very disheartening. Glad it's looking up

A novice question, as in novice to using fertiliser etc chap turned up and applied the till today , I still think it’s to cold but anyway.
There’s a few bits of rush and a fair few thistles starting in one or two patches .
How long after the till goes on can I spray ( mcpa for rush and thistles for thistles)
Fert will be waiting for the warmth anyway. Glad you have got some on. (y)

Get in and spray ASAP, or at least as soon as you have a couple of warm, growing days, so that the herbicide will be taken in properly.

I have Ragwort on a paddock I have a few miles away, it's getting up, but needs to be warmer.....

Last ewe lambed tonight. yay! First timer so happy with a healthy Single that she loves... Out they go tomorrow, and clock starts ticking for vaccinating the lambs.

Pondering 2 batches to jab early lambs, but such a PITA. Vet said with our few, count 4 weeks from the last lamb and jab the lot.... :) Picked up some cheap Bravoxin which cheered me up anyway in BCW in Drayton.

My version of @Jerry .. not footbathing .about to attempt to gather ewes and lambs , mark up ear notch then back to the moor
I’ve a feeling it won’t go as smoothly
Mrs texted this morning. FIL died last night , that was very quick, but on the upside , less suffering
Sorry for your loss, never easy at the time whenever it happens, but less suffering always better looking back.

Hope the sheep surprise you

They surprised me alright, bloody sheep 😂
I only brought fat Dave , about to give up as he was gassed up, when a neighbour came past on his quad , two dogs soon penned them up .
All bar two newly lambed are marked and on the moor
