We do use a camera but I do find the moo call excellent you get a good nights sleep no need to wake to look at the camera and yes they probably text you an hour before you need to be there but you get used to that and no matter where you are next door or 60 miles away you know when somethings...
UNIX was available sexed up to around 18 months ago but is no more
We have a few Unix heifers to bull in the spring very correct heifers
I'm sure more sexed will turn up now that have been forgotten about in tanks
Never seen this thread before but here's my effort ....The view from the kitchen window ......Great Gable in the middle with Scafell to the right ........how lucky am I
Not a bad ride out with the slurry tanker today. Got to love where we live
Looking up the Wasdale Valley with Great Gable in the middle and Sacfell Pike tucked in behind to the right
I thought I had to add a bit of class
Much better than my Richie crush that has left me with many black nails over the years ........how I'd love to change it
That was easy to see yesterday
No stability and confidence
It's such a short time since the bad times were here and their still deeply engrained in memories
There has been so many dairy cattle sold through Carlisle in the last two months !
I have to agree trade yesterday at Carlisle was a good £500 back for a lot of the decent heifers compared with the same sale a month ago.Amazing how low confidence is at the moment
Just looked at the sale report for the sale at Carlisle today and after speaking to Glyn Lucas last week and him saying it was a fantastic herd of dairy cattle the trade looked to be in the buyers favour
How trade can change so fast after a bit of bad milk pricing news,it was flying 3 weeks ago...
To be fair heifers at Carlisle must have been £300 back on a fortnight ago when milk prices were just rumours yesterday they were fact and at the front of may conversations maybe not a surprise trade was down. Knee jerk reaction? Time will tell
So so sorry to hear this
Gut wrenching and hard to stomach
Can't imagine how your feeling but you have to now focus on the animals you have left
Time and talking will help.....,life's a bitch at times
Been busy the last few weeks and missed to many of the the lads matches ....Got away Sunday great tight game but he came up trumps scoring the winning try with 2 minutes to go
Hell they grow up fast !!
What has happened to our youngest son !
It seems only like yesterday we were carting him all over the country and following him to France and South Africa playing under 18s but I saw this photo from 2 weeks ago ......no wonder I feel old he's catching me up !!
Yea TheRanger has said £1680 ..was disappointed really.Trade was difficult as I saw it .The ring was much quieter than it has been recently
Plenty of decent heifers to be had in that £1300 price bracket
But I know the buyer will be well pleased with her and hopefully back for more !
Were you...
No it's the monthly dairy day tomorrow
But she is pedigree and by Trigger, probably should have kept her until the pedigree sale in 2weeks but there's always some good heifers at the dairy day
Holstein v Friesian it's all about personal choice .....not who can shout the loudest in here !
Personally I think there's a balance between the two extremes of both breeds......but I do tend to favour the Holstein .....but each to their own choice, whatever suits and floats your boat !
Big store cattle sale up here today at Cockermouth 1200 entered, we were drawn in the last 100 not ideal but I took them did consider not to
Didn't take them until 2pm,the Auction was packed with buyers from all over the country .....fantastic trade all day.i wasn't through the ring until 5.30...
