Thame. 45 Miles away. Our nearest livestock mart by far.which mart
I took a neighbour for the ride and to see his daughter's calf (she owns 1 cow in our herd) sold. He bought the "refreshments"You should be able to afford more than a bacon roll if your selling 26!
As @Mrs Holwell said - I did offer but she stayed home to keep the hounds companyWe'll expect some pics and a full market report later in the day. Are you treating @Mrs Holwell to a Mart dinner too?
not a lot of choice i know round your wayThame. 45 Miles away. Our nearest livestock mart by far.

We were about 1/3 through the catalogue - Ideal by my reckoning.
The sale started slow as they often do and I was getting quite worried about the prices. An 18 month well grown Hereford Rig struggled to £690, several lots of 10 month + beasts failed to reach £600.
By the time our lots went through folk had found some of their spare cash and our beasts sold OK. 16 AAx steers 9 to 14 months old averaged £813 with 5 making £895. 10 AAx heifers 9 to 15 months averaged £673 but 5 were all young and quite small. 1 15 month AAx Heifer made £1058.
Ours were very close to the top of the market for those I saw sold.
We've had better days but I'm satisfied.
And I got my bacon roll/bap/whatever it's called where you happen to be

Liked it, but with a bit of jealousy, its getting nearly impossible to grow OSR around here to that standard, do miss the crop in the rotation
