Yeah, but this one didn't even calve this year so she must have been milking 22 odd months so she'd had plenty of opportunities with the bulls.

Too many mouths on the farm at the moment though so I'm having a good tidy up.
Shame to sell her keep her as a pet can only give you good fortune

I've kept a few on as pets in the past just tidying the orchards around the house and I find it just as sad to see them quickly go down hill which they invariably do at that sort of age. I don't know if it's a jersey thing but it's often arthritic hips that finally kill off good old cows.

This girl is usually in the cubicles because she can't stay clean on the straw yards. However, she's giving about 64-66 litres so had to go in the highs. After one weekend on straw she looked like this....

So I clipped her out
Then she looked like this...

Then I pressure washed her a bit
So she looked like this....

But then she started getting mucky again so she got given a private room for some tlc

Came out last night as clean as can be
Just takes 3 feeds a day to keep her full :/
And two McCormick and one Solaris heifer calves a nice even bunch

To be fair heifers at Carlisle must have been £300 back on a fortnight ago when milk prices were just rumours yesterday they were fact and at the front of may conversations maybe not a surprise trade was down. Knee jerk reaction? Time will tell

Quick look a latest milk records and she's competition for your cow @buffalo_soldier shes also doing a tad over 5kg milk solids a day
Last recording 66litres 4.35 and 3.29
5.0424kg

Good work.
That's what I like about this job, there is always someone just that bit better(y).

If I get chance I may up the ante a bit:)
Unbelievable figures. Really impressed. Just wondering how much of that is down to feed? What would she do on good silage or grass and plenty of concentrates?

Good forages definitely help the Job along.
Silage is just over 12me, protein was 17 I think.

Like yours she's a one off
Our high yeilders ration is
2kg molasses
0.6kg wheat straw
1kg wheat
10kg blend
21kg grass silage and 16.5 kg maize
Like you say good quality forage is the key, the maize and grass this year is a one off
Grass isn't as good as yours though @buffalo_soldier 12me 16 protein
