    Hole size for threads

I'm wanting to fit a couple of grease nipples to the end of a shaft but wondered about the diameter of the hole. The nipples are 10mm diameter across the thread but I presume the hole needs to be smaller to allow for the tap to bite into some metal, but how much smnaller, 9mm or even 8?

    Possible answers? Tread carefully.

Now that the first phase of the panic is exhausting itself there should be time to look at alternative or complimentary strategies especially with the emergence of two candidate medicines which might help alleviate the symptoms or even the disease itself. Both Ivermectin and Vitamin D have been...

    High rev vacuum pumps

It seems that vacuum pumps on slurry tankers all run at 350rpm max, are there any that can run at 500rpm? The reason for asking is that at 350rpm the tractor is engine is only producing 2/3 of its rated power which isn't enough to power a macerator and pull 10 tonnes of slurry at the desired speed.

    SIM tray on Ipad

Rather unwillingly I've bought a refurbished ipad to access emails when I'm away from the PC and am now trying to get to grips with the thing. How do I get the SIM tray open? I've looked online and am told that I need the special tool or a paperclip. I've tried poking a paperclip down the hole...

    Some progress, perhaps.

News fresh in from the front. It seems that there may be movement on both sides according to the less than impressive Phil Hogan, sounds good so far, but what he really means is that the EU may be prepared to rearrange a few full stops and maybe add a word here and there in the TM agreement...

    Impressed (for once)

Overarm bale handlers- the dogs dangly bits. Had a go with one today and it transforms the job. Quick, easy and no damage to the bales. Just thought I'd exude a little positivity!

    Harrows, rollers and toppers.

I was taught that this trio provided the very backbone of good grassland management yet all seem to have faded from the scene and I rarely see fields being rolled and harrowed in springtime. Has it been decided that they are no longer worthwhile?

    B2Evolution

Anybody had any experience of this software? I've got it downloaded but am struggling to make sense of it. It strikes me as more of coders playground rather than a user friendly CMS, but I'd love to find an alternative to WP.

Value of wood chips as soil conditioner/fertiliser

Does the cost of chipping branch trimmings outweigh the benefits of spreading them on fields? All we were told at college was that they take far too long to rot and tie up N in the soil while doing so. But that was in the era when the fashion was to throw Nitram at everything in sight.
